 Superintendent

  • 5+ years of commercial construction Superintendent experience
  • Possess a complete working knowledge of commercial construction work
  • Knowledge of standard Uniform Building Codes, ADA requirements, etc.
  • Sufficient in reading construction plans and specifications
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA requirements and general safety programs to ensure the jobsite and subcontractors are working in a safe environment
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Experience with medical, dental, and veterinarian buildings preferred

  • Coordination, schedule and monitor subcontractors in proper sequence of events
  • Preform quality control inspections over subcontractors work
  • Schedule city and special inspections
  • Daily jobsite inspections and write up daily job reports to document construction progress, construction issues, inspections, job site activities, visitors, etc.
  • Schedule and lead subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Schedule, direct and supervise carpenters

Carpenter

  • 1-2 years of carpentry experience
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to ascend/descend, move/transfer, reach, balance, and position self to perform work
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to solve math problems quickly and accurately

  • Erect wood and metal stud framework in buildings
  • Build forms for concrete
  • Erect partitions, studs, joints, drywall and rafters
  • Install all types of floor coverings, ceilings, paneling, trim and interior systems
  • Hollow metal doors and frame installation
  • Hand wood doors and install hardware
  • Install millwork trim and cabinets
  • Receive and off load materials in a safe and proficient fashion
  • Read plans and blueprints
  • Remove worksite debris
  • Responsible to secure and maintain basic tools such as: nail bag, framing and trimming hammers, 25 ft tape measure, utility knives, chisel assortment, crow bar, 4 ft level, framing square, screw driver assortment, nail set, block plain, chalk line, hand saw and pliers to perform tasks

Project Manager

  • 5 years of commercial construction project management experience
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to interact with people and communicate in a professional manner with owners, inspectors, architects and others having a direct interest in the project

  • Study and understand contract documents of each project to determine areas that may be ambiguous, present problems, or result in unforeseen costs
  • Acquisition of major materials and award subcontractors’ work with the most competitive pricing
  • Initiate subcontractor contract process and approve at completion
  • Prepare and update as necessary the job progress schedule in coordination with the job superintendent
  • Resolve design and detail problems with owners, architects, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Attend owner meetings
  • Analyze job cost reports to determine recommended action on overruns
  • Code and approve invoices
  • Assure that submittals are received, submitted, corrected, approved and returned to the suppliers and subcontractors to assure delivery of materials and equipment
  • Assist and manage job superintendent in maintaining good subcontractor relations
  • Estimate and submit timely change proposals to the architect or owner. Prepare change orders between the company, architect and subcontractors
  • Review and prepare monthly owner billings for submission to the Accounting Department

Eureka School Foundation Golf Tournament

As Summer quickly approaches, Wells Construction is proud to announce that we will be the Event Sponsor for the Eureka School Foundation Golf Tournament, which will be hosted on May 7th, 2014 at the Granite Bay Golf Club. This will be our sixth consecutive year sponsoring the tournament and it’s been an honor volunteering alongside theparents and educators to raise money for the children and programs of the Eureka Unified School District. The event features a full day of golf, prizes, gourmet lunch and dinner, and extravagant silent auction items. Last year, the golf tournament raised over $41,000 and this year we are hoping to raise more.

Visit Wells Construction at the Western Veterinary Conference

Wells Construction has made their way to Las Vegas for the 86th Annual Western Veterinary Conference at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

This five day conference, lasting from February 16th-20th, consists of 500 vendors and 250 speakers who are the leading experts in the veterinary field. Topics discussed during this conference range from new medical practices, large and small animal care and practice ownership and development.

If you’re attending the conference, Nicole Wells and Melissa Coppa, Wells Construction’s Business Development Manager and Preconstruction and Design Manager, would love to meet you at the Wells Construction booth #239 to answer any questions you may have about building a new practice or rejuvenating an existing one. They are able to show you samples of finishes used in practices, explain the design/build process and give you the chance to win an iPad Air.
